The Proper Way to Play Video Poker

November 12th, 2016 No comments

Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be bet on in casinos across the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, using a net connection. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest mixture of cards possible in order to win cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, without the involvement with competing players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards he or she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are given out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that experienced gamblers are agile enough to choose the most profitable game each time.

After the first round has finished, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Additionally, several styles of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to increase their winnings, in which instance another game is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
