Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be played in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at home on your personal computer, using a net account. The game rules are absolutely simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest combination of cards possible in order to acquire cash. On this account it is much the same as a regular game of poker, apart from the involvement with other players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A five card hand will then be "distributed" on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts should now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.

After the player has selected which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.

Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced gamblers are agile enough to select the most money-making game every time.

Once the first round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that might been won. Further, some versions of the game give the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance another hand is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
