Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be enjoyed in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, through a net connection. The rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to get the best combination of cards possible in order to come away with cash. On this account it’s very similar as a classic game of poker, apart from the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will be "dealt" on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the enthusiast has decided on which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards are dealt if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable players are agile enough to choose the most beneficial ones each and every time.

After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that might been won. Further, some versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to double their wins, in which case a further round is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
