Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be wagered on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your personal computer, using a net account. The rules are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to achieve the highest combination of cards achievable in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A 5 card hand will then be "handed out" on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the gambler has selected which cards he or she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be given out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.

Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are able to select the most beneficial game every time.

After the first round has completed, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that might have been won. Further, several styles of the game give the player an opportunity to increase their profits, in which instance another game is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing aspects to enhance playability.
