Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be played in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, using a net account. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards as you can in order to win money. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, without the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are dealt if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.

Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that discerning bettors are agile enough to pick the most profitable machine every instance.

After the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, several styles of the game allow the player an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which situation another game is played. There are also variations between individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
