The Proper Way to Gamble on Video Poker

[ English ]

Video Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos throughout the globe, or alternatively at home on your PC, through an Internet account. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to achieve the greatest combination of cards possible in order to win cash. On this account it is very similar as a classic game of poker, without the interaction with competing players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Video Poker starts when the player puts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A 5 card hand will be "handed out" on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the gambler has chosen which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be dealt. The round is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can change from game to game, so that discerning gamblers are agile enough to select the most beneficial game each time.

Once the first round has finished, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, several styles of the game give the enthusiast a chance to double their wins, in which instance a further hand is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
